The Basketball Positions
Basketball Positions are very important to a basketball player.A basketball player should have its permanent Position.A pointguard controls the ball and organizes the team. Some active National Basketball Association(NBA) Pointguards are Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns and Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets which are two future Hall of Famers.A Shooting guard creates a high percentage shots and guards the opponents best perimeter players on defense.Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat,Kobe Bryant of the Los angeles Lakers and Tracy McGrady of the Houston Rockets are just three of the many athletic shooting guards in the NBA. A Small Forward is often responsible for scoring points via attacking the basket and doing dribbling penetration. On defense, the Small Forward seeks rebounds and steals.Three of the premiere Small Forward in the NBA are LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers,Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks.A Power Forward plays offense often around the basket but some are exceptional that can score far from the basket. On defense the Power Forwards block shots and grabs rebounds.Shawn Marion of the Phoenix Suns,Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors and Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks are just some of the talented Power Forwards in the NBA.A Center uses their size to score and to protect the basket on defense. In the past Centers are not known for their leaping abilities but now we have these athletic Centers like Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.Personally i would choose a Small Forward,i'm not saying that i can score a ton but i would like to help my team win and to support the Center and the Power Forward on defending the basket..
